In 2011 the 200 years of Franz Liszt were celebrated. Considered the most famous virtuoso piano player of the 19th century, his well known solo piano work is are still as famous today. The Gulbenkien Orchestra under the direction of Lawrence Foster with Arthur Pizarro on the piano, will be playing Franz Liszt’s “Orpheo” and “Les Préludes” as well as Wagner/Liszt the opening of “Tannhäuser” and “O du mein holder Abendstern”, the piano transcripts. 5th of January at 9PM and 6th of January at 7PM.
