We are The Independente Collective. An alliance of travellers, adventurers, and pioneers, looking for fresh paths to tread, different boundaries to cross and new friends to make.

The Independente Collective is the brainchild of four brothers. Avid wanderers ourselves, we envisioned a different concept of hospitality where travellers, as well as locals, could come together, sharing stories, experiences and memories.

We sought to bring back one of Portugal’s finest traditions: hospitality. We’ve added our own twist to it, with spaces that were as elegant as they were cool and as exclusive as they were open. Places where every visitor can feel like a part of the family.

Starting out with The Independente Hostel & Suites, our vision was soon a reality. Out of an old palace in the heart of Lisbon, a meeting place of ideas and cultures was born. Soon after, The Independente Suites & Terrace was created, and, along with the two restaurants The Decadente and The Insólito, we have established our own creative hospitality concept.

We aim to provide unique and authentic experiences to each and every one of our guests. Our spaces are designed so that you can feel welcomed and relaxed, and fully enjoy all the city has to offer. So, come on in, make yourself at home; here you’re always among friends.
